Introduction to rest

The rest package contains a library that was designed to make it easier to access web services that claim to be "RESTful". It includes convenience wrappers for libsoup and libxml to ease remote use of the RESTful API.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-8.3 platform.

Installation of rest

Install rest by running the following commands:

./configure --prefix=/usr \
    --with-ca-certificates=/etc/ssl/ca-bundle.crt &&

To test the results, issue: make check.

Now, as the root user:

make install

Command Explanations

--with-ca-certificates=/etc/ssl/ca-bundle.crt: This switch sets the location of the BLFS certificate authority bundle.

--enable-gtk-doc: Use this parameter if GTK-Doc is installed and you wish to rebuild and install the API documentation.
